 Departmental Mission Statement 
The Development Services Department for the town of Waxhaw is committed to providing our Town's residents with the highest standard of public service, professionalism, honesty, and integrity.  We do so through the administration of development regulations that protect the public interests, through collaboration with our community stakeholders on various planning initiatives, and by developing strong partnerships that preserve and enhance the economic vitality of our thriving Main Street district. 

The Development Services Department is comprised of the following five divisions; Planning Division, Building Inspection Division, Downtown Development Division, Code Enforcement Division, and the Engineering Division. Duties of The Development Services Department
The duties of The Development Services Department include administering the Unified Development Ordinance (UDO, addressing, permitting, subdivision and plan review, and providing support to the Historic Preservation CommissionMain Street Advisory Board, Board of AdjustmentPlanning Board, and Board of Commissioners.)

ADVISORY: Online MetroQuest Survey for NC Public Transportation Strategic Plan. Public Input Welcomed as Strategic Plan is Developed.

This summer, stakeholders and the public are invited to participate in an online survey for the North Carolina Public Transportation Statewide Strategic Plan. The survey can be accessed at https://nctransitplan.metroquest.com/, and will be available until the end of July.

The N.C. Department of Transportation is developing the Public Transportation Statewide Strategic Plan to improve bus, rail, and paratransit services across the state by better matching transit services to the needs of North Carolinians.
