Commissioner Brenda Stewart has been a resident of Waxhaw, specifically the historic downtown area, for 24 years. She is passionate about preserving the uniqueness of Waxhaw and her primary goal is to facilitate teamwork and unity with the Town's Board, Advisory Committees, Town Staff, residents and business owners to support the Town's unique vision and mission.
Commissioner Stewart has several years of experience serving the Town of Waxhaw by actively participating as a member of advisory committees prior to her appointment as Commissioner in December 2015. Of particular interest to Commissioner Stewart is the continued development of parks and recreational facilities for Wahxaw's citizens as well as the preservation and promotion of the arts.
Commissioner Stewart enjoys drawing and creating stained glass artwork. She has two sons, Michael and Bryan, and is a member of Forest Hill Church in Waxhaw.
