The general purpose of the Main Street Advisory Board is to stimulate economic vitality in downtown Waxhaw through organization (encouraging cooperation and building leadership in the business community); promotion (creating a positive image for downtown by promoting the downtown as an exciting place to live, shop and invest); design (improving the appearance of the downtown); and through the development and recommendation of economic development policies and programs.

What is the time commitment?
The Main Street Advisory Board (MSAB) consists of 9 members who serve staggered 3-year terms.  The MSAB holds regular meetings on the second Monday of each month at 6:00 PM at the Duncan McDonald House located at 115 McDonald Street in Waxhaw (if the second Monday is a holiday, the meeting may be rescheduled).  As is true with all Town volunteer boards & commissions, members are limited to serving two consecutive terms on any one board/commission.

View the Boards and Commission Volunteer Information page and complete the online application.  Applications will be automatically forwarded to the Clerk's office and presented to the Board of Commissioners for review. The Board of Commissions appoint all members of the MSAB.
