About the Youth Art Kaleidoscope

Attention Teachers!

It’s Time Again to Showcase Your Budding Artists!

The Waxhaw Youth Art Kaleidoscope, a feature of Waxhaw’s Kaleidoscope Fest, is May 18, 2019.

ANNOUNCEMENT:  Kaleidoscope Fest is changing to a one-day Food, Music and Art Festival.  It is still the goal of this festival to promote Waxhaw’s culture and all things art in Waxhaw from fine arts and crafts, to the performing arts, and the culinary arts.  Our goal this year is to really enhance the culinary arts by adding the Taste of Waxhaw venue featuring food bites from Waxhaw area restaurants.

As art is still a main portion of this event, our goal with the Youth Art Kaleidoscope Show is to showcase as many of Waxhaw’s budding artists as possible.  So we’d love to see a submission from each art class you teach. However, we realize storage and finding the time to do so may prove difficult; so, we would like to offer you the opportunity to showcase the BEST art work of up to 20 students from your school.  If possible, please send a variety of art work from your classes, not all the same project.

Home schooled? You may participate as an individual student or as part of your home school group.  If submitting individually, submit one piece of your best artwork along with the application below. A home school group may submit up to 20 art pieces. If submitting as a group, please have one main contact fill out the application and submit all artwork together.

Art will be divided into the following groups:

Elementary K-2

Elementary 3-5

Middle

High School

THE SHOW WILL BE JUDGED and 1st, 2nd, 3rd and Honorable Mention awarded to each group for each eligible medium.  Also, each participant will receive a certificate of participation.

We hope to see the blooming artists in your schools represented. If you have any questions, contact the Waxhaw Parks & Recreation Events Division at 704-843-2195 ext. 235 or 226.
