Each Independence Day begins with a hometown parade in our historic downtown. Announcers cover the entire parade route to make sure that you hear all of the details surrounding the fun entries passing by from antique cars and fire engines, to parade-themed floats, horses, stilt walkers, clowns, and more.
The Waxhaw parade route offers a great number of seating locations with high visibility to view the parade. Parade entrants line up on North Providence Street (one street east of Highway 16). The parade route begins on North Main Street at the Railroad Overhead Bridge continues down North Main Street, crosses the railroad tracks at Rehobeth Road, then travels east on Highway 75 (South Main Street) to the Y intersection at Old Providence Road/Highway 75.
