Michael Eiss


Chief Eiss entered Law Enforcement in 1994 and later joined the Waxhaw Police Department in 2002. Prior to Law Enforcement he served in the United States Marine Corps (USMC) as an infantryman during Desert Storm. Once he completed his four year tour of duty, he started his career in Law Enforcement. He served as a detention officer with the Pennsylvania Department of Corrections and a public safety officer with the City of Monroe. Before becoming the Chief of Police of Waxhaw in August, 2006, Chief Eiss served as the assistant chief and a patrol sergeant. Since joining the Waxhaw Police Department in 2002, Chief Eiss has served with the United States Marshalls Hornet’s Nest Taskforce. Awards that he has received are his North Carolina Criminal Justice Advance Law Enforcement certificate and the Officer of the Year in 2004. He is a graduate of North Carolina State University’s Law Enforcement Executive Program. He is currently seeking a Bachelor’s Degree in Criminal Justice Administration from Columbia Southern University and will soon be completing the North Carolina Municipal & County Administration course from the North Carolina School of Government.
