Town of Waxhaw Urges Residents to Keep Right of Ways Clear of Obstructions

The Town of Waxhaw leadership appreciates all that our residents are doing to practice social distancing and staying at home to slow the spread of COVID-19 in our community.

With the ongoing COVID-19 mitigation efforts, more individuals at home has resulted in additional vehicles, recreational items, trash/debris, and other miscellaneous items to accrue along the public streets, sidewalks, and in the public right-of-way. We ask that the residents be mindful of obstructing these areas when parking vehicles, placing recreational equipment such as basketball goals, and placing garbage collection items within the public right-of-way.

State Law mandates that the town keeps our infrastructure and right-of-way clear of any unnecessary obstructions and with the ongoing need for delivery services, trash collection, and the continuing concern for emergency services, obstructions could create a safety hazard for motorists and interfere with required maintenance activities.

We appreciate our community’s support in making the necessary sacrifices to provide a healthier, safer, community. Providing safe, convenient, and efficient services to our residents is very important to us and we thank you for your assistance in our efforts to achieve this.
