Waxhaw Park Closures and Reopenings

The Town of Waxhaw has reopened several parks in the area following the storm last week. We are working swiftly to make storm repairs to our park grounds and facilities. Please see the list below for more information on park closures and reopenings as of February 10th. We will continue to share updates as repairs continue and amenities reopen.

  • H.C. Nesbit Park - OPEN as of February 10th. The park equipment & fencing are cautioned off. Please do not attempt to access these areas.
  • Town Creek Park - The playground, shelter and garden area will remain CLOSED until storm repair and maintenance is complete. The parking lot and walking loop at Town Creek Park are OPEN as of February 11th.
  • David G. Barnes Park & Waxhaw SK8 Park - OPEN as of February 10th. It will be CLOSED later this week for storm repair and maintenance.
  • 12 Mile Creek Trail/Carolina Thread Trail at Prescot - OPEN as of February 11th.
  • 12 Mile Creek Trail/Carolina Thread Trail from Nesbit to Millbridge Parkway (gravel road) - OPEN as of February 10th.
  • 12 Mile Creek Trail/Carolina Thread Trail from Mill Bridge Parkway to NC/SC suspension bridge - CLOSED until further notice due to major storm repair and maintenance.
