Waxhaw Police Officer Donnie Gay Retires After 31 Years of Service

The Town of Waxhaw extends its heartfelt gratitude to Officer Donnie Gay, who will retire on August 30, 2025, after dedicating 31 years to law enforcement.

Officer Gay began his career with the Monroe Police Department, later serving the Town of Wingate, and for the past 5.5 years has been a valued member of the Waxhaw Police Department. During his time in Waxhaw, he served as Patrol Officer, Acting Sergeant, and a vital member of the Field Force Team.

His loyalty, dedication, and commitment to the safety of our community have been an inspiration to colleagues and residents alike. To honor his service, the Board of Commissioners has adopted a resolution awarding him his service badge and sidearm in accordance with North Carolina General Statute 20-187.2(a).

We thank Officer Gay for his outstanding service to Waxhaw and wish him the very best in retirement.
