Post Date:10/27/2025 8:00 a.m.
The Town of Waxhaw Public Services Department is once again offering Leaf Vacuuming Service for residents from November through January.
Crews will be out Monday through Thursday, working their way through every neighborhood to collect leaves and keep our community looking its best.
“With more than 7,000 homes in town, it may take some time before crews return to your street, but rest assured, every neighborhood will be serviced throughout the season,” said Todd Matthews, Waxhaw Public Services Director.

For a visual guide to our leaf vacuuming service, check out our short video. It walks you through everything you need to know, from when crews will be in your neighborhood to how to prepare your leaves for collection.
To help keep the program running efficiently and safely, residents are asked to follow these simple guidelines:
Leaf Vacuuming Guidelines
Leaves Only – Please do not include rocks, limbs, debris, or other objects in your piles. These can damage our equipment and cause delays.
Rake to the Edge of the Street – Place leaves close enough for the vacuum hose to reach, but not so far into the road that they block traffic or drainage. Do not block sidewalks.
Avoid Ditches and Storm Drains – Leaves placed in ditches or drains can cause flooding and blockages.
Keep Piles Clear of Parked Vehicles – If crews cannot safely reach a pile, it will not be collected until vehicles are moved.
Weather and Scheduling
Leaf vacuuming will be paused during inclement weather to protect equipment, but crews will resume as soon as conditions allow.
Residents are encouraged to visit waxhaw.com/leaves for updates and additional information about the program schedule. Thank you for helping us keep Waxhaw clean and beautiful this fall!
