H.C. Nesbit Park will experience several temporary closures over the next two weeks as part of a parking lot repaving project.
This Week (April 1 – 2)
H.C. Nesbit Park will be closed starting at 7 a.m. Wednesday and Thursday (April 1–2) to allow crews to safely prepare the site for paving.
- The Kensington Elementary drop-off and pick-up line will be routed through the concession stand parking lot on these two days.
- Park access will be closed just past the parking lot entrance.
This Weekend (April 3 – 5)
The park will reopen for the weekend, Friday, April 3 through Sunday, April 5.
Spring Break Week (April 6 – 10)
Full milling and repaving operations will take place Monday, April 6 through Friday, April 10. During this time:
- H.C. Nesbit Park will be closed to the public all week for safety.
- All scheduled Waxhaw Athletic Association games will be relocated to Kensington Field 8, with parking at Kensington Elementary School.
- Trailhead access from the park will close starting Monday, April 6, including parking and pedestrian access.
- The suspension bridge trail will remain accessible via Millbridge Parkway.
H.C. Nesbit Park is expected to reopen on Saturday, April 11.
This project marks the first resurfacing of the parking lot in nearly a decade and will improve road conditions and overall access for residents and visitors.
