The Town of Waxhaw's administrative offices will be closed on Monday, May 25, in observance of the Memorial Day holiday.
- Town parks will be open; however, the Recreation Barn will be closed.
- As a reminder, emergency services are always available by calling 911.
Memorial Day Ceremony
Join us at 10 a.m. Monday, May 25, at the Military Wall of Honor (105 E. North Main Street) in downtown Waxhaw for a solemn Memorial Day ceremony remembering those who have died in service of the United States of America.
Waxhaw is proud to host this annual ceremony to honor and remember those who made the ultimate sacrifice for our freedom.
Trash and Recycling Service
Trash and Recycling services will not run on Monday, May 25. Trash and recycling will operate on a one-day delay the week of May 25 due to the holiday. All Monday customers will be picked up Tuesday. Tuesday customers will be picked up on Wednesday, and so on.
A few simple steps can help keep collection routes safe and efficient for everyone:
- Keep all trash inside the cart with the lid closed. Overloaded carts will not be collected.
- Place carts with enough clearance from vehicles and obstacles to allow garbage trucks to safely maneuver.
- Avoid blocking access to carts on collection day.
