The Town of Waxhaw is notifying residents in the Cureton neighborhood that fiber installation is expected to begin the week of August 24 and be completed in approximately one month.

MasTec crews working on behalf of Kinetic will install communications fiber optic lines within the public right-of-way. Crews are authorized to work within the right-of-way and utility easements, and will use a minimally invasive, trenchless installation process.

The fiber will be installed through boring, also known as horizontal directional drilling (HDD). This process allows crews to place underground fiber and protective conduit beneath driveways, roads, and lawns without digging open trenches, minimizing landscape damage and surface disruption.

Crews are required to maintain access to driveways and roadways throughout the project. If temporary access restrictions are necessary, crews will coordinate with affected residents in advance and minimize the duration of any disruption.

If property is damaged during the installation process, the contractor is required to restore it to its previous condition or better.
