Susanna Wedra, originally hailing from New York, found her heart and home in the picturesque town of Waxhaw in 2014. With a desire to provide her children, Nicholas and Julianna, with a childhood reminiscent of their own, centered around family, community, and faith, Susanna and her husband Errol made the life-changing decision to settle in Waxhaw.
Armed with a Bachelor's Degree in International Business from Hofstra University, Susanna gained valuable experience in problem-solving, leadership, and budgeting in the business world. However, her passion led her back to school, earning a Master's Degree in Elementary Education from Long Island University. This began a fulfilling career as an educator in the New York City school system, later continuing on Long Island.
Susanna's dedication to education extends beyond the classroom, as she currently serves as a substitute teacher in Union County and is actively involved in the Union County School Superintendent's Parent Advisory Council. Her commitment to ensuring student success and her participation in the North Carolina Portrait of a Graduate Committee showcase her dedication to education and the community.

Before joining the Board of Commissioners, Commissioner Gemignani served two terms on the Waxhaw Planning Board. In this role, he contributed to the review of development proposals, helped guide responsible growth, and worked to support Waxhaw’s small-town character. His service strengthened his understanding of zoning, infrastructure, and community priorities, providing valuable perspective for his work on the Board.
Commissioner Gemignani is a graduate of Michigan State University and Walsh University (MBA). He brings more than 26 years of experience in sales and marketing within the home improvement industry, as well as firsthand knowledge as a former small business owner. His professional background includes strategic planning, budget management, relationship building, and cross-functional collaboration—skills that support his service to the town and its residents. He has a strong appreciation for the needs of local entrepreneurs and the importance of a vibrant local economy.
