Downtown Master Plan
A Downtown Master Plan is a guiding policy that captures the community’s vision for downtown, outlining strategies and priorities for future development. As part of Waxhaw’s FY25 Capital Improvement Plan, this initiative will focus on:
- Downtown infill development
- Parking solutions & streetscape lighting
- Accessibility & walkability enhancements
- A 10-year implementation framework

Downtown Waxhaw Association
In 2022, the Downtown Waxhaw Association (DWA) was created to assist with the preservation and promotion of Downtown Waxhaw! The Board of Directors consists of nine members, including representatives from the Town of Waxhaw, downtown residents, downtown business owners, and community volunteers.
The DWA also manages three committees that meet on a regular basis to work on a multitude of downtown projects. Those committees are Design, Economic Vitality and Promotion.
