We appreciate your commitment to helping keep Waxhaw beautiful! The Sponsor a Space Program gives individuals, businesses, civic organizations, schools, and community groups the opportunity to help maintain and enhance our parks, trails, and public spaces. To apply for sponsorship, please complete the Sponsor a Space Program Agreement form and submit it for review by the Town of Waxhaw Parks & Recreation Department.

Program Overview

All sponsorship applications are subject to review and approval by the Town of Waxhaw. Approval is based on available spaces and the applicant’s ability to meet program expectations. Each applicant may sponsor one space at a time until successful participation has been demonstrated.

Sponsors are asked to clean and maintain their designated space at least four (4) times per year. This includes picking up litter and placing filled trash bags next to park trash receptacles. Sponsors should schedule and report completed clean-ups, request project approvals, and notify staff of any vandalism, damage, or safety concerns.

Primary contact and alternate contact person are required for sponsorship.

 Sponsor’s Agreement Terms

  • Sponsorships are for a two-year term, renewable every two years.
  • For highly requested locations, sponsorship may be limited to a maximum of two consecutive years.
  • The Parks & Recreation Department provides general park maintenance; however, sponsorship helps provide extra care and attention to these areas

Sponsor Recognition

The Town of Waxhaw will purchase a recognition sign for the adopted space. Signs typically take 4-6 weeks to install and will remain in place for the duration of the sponsorship term.

  • Trash bags
  • Recycling information
  • Guidance and approval of special projects
  • If approved, other necessary requested clean-up/special project equipment

Special & Seasonal Projects

Sponsors may request to complete enhancement projects such as planting, mulching, or seasonal flower installation. All special project proposals must be submitted in writing and approved in advance.

Please note: Only hand-weeding is permitted. No chemical weed control may be used by sponsors.
