“Offset Bonsai"

At the time of making this work I was also creating some Bonsai for a solo exhibition.  This inspired me to want to explore that idea in a public art and to blend it with some of my formalist steel series.  I decided to make a steel form with a large negative space that seemed like an opening or vessel and to paint a tree on the sculpture itself.  In the upper section I did create a vessel that was heavily offset to one side and meant to actually grow a plant.  Doing this allowed me to have a representation of a tree and the ability to actually grow a plant as well.  This piece is for sale for $2500.

"Elevated Intersection"

This sculpture focuses on heavily on the elements and principles of art. I wanted to create a visually light feeling sculpture that had movement, lines that interacted with one another, textural accents, and a cohesive color scheme.  This piece is for sale for $3000.

Artist: Chris Wilson

Bio:

Chris Wilson, founder and owner of Wilson Wildlife Sculpture, began his career over 45 years ago as a student of Creative, Able, and Committed – a magnet school of the arts program. His earliest mentors were talented wildlife artists – Marilynn Arn, an art instructor, and Gary Denzler, former head of the Bird’s of Prey Center at the Cincinnati Zoo. Mr. Denzler trained Chris to value close observation of his subject matter. As a teenager, Chris designed a large aviary in the purlieu of his family home in Atlanta where twelve beautiful waterfowl were conveniently available to Chris for close inspection and to aid in the refinement of his artwork. Chris was trained by several nationally known sculptors as a high school student before receiving his Bachelors Degree in Art from Kennesaw State University in 1994 and his Masters of Fine Arts Degree in sculpture from Georgia State University in 2001. Chris continued to enhance his craftsmanship, form, and concepts as a professor of art for over seven years. Today, Wilson Wildlife Sculpture is his exclusive focus. His training and attention to detail have culminated in over 100 best of show awards; among them include Best of Show in 3D and People’s Choice Award at the Nature Works Art Show in Tulsa, Oklahoma in 2014,  2018, 2022, and 2024.

“Reflection on Our Ancestors"

This abstract figurative sculpture reflects the region's heritage and culture, symbolizing harmony and the continuity of life. Carved from a single block of strong, finely grained Cherokee marble, it invites reflection on the void or negative space in its center, encouraging thoughts about absence, presence, and the visible versus the invisible. The original sculpture is priced at $5,000 and available at www.WilsonWildlifeSculpture.com.

Artist: Nico Amortegui

Bio:  Nico Amortegui is a full time artist based in Charlotte. Known for large-scale paintings and installations, his mural and sculpture works can be found in numerous cities throughout NC as well as Atlanta, DC, and Tel Aviv. Having exhibited in more than 50 group exhibitions plus 11 solo shows, Nico’s art brut style is familiar yet distinctly his own composite of cultural experiences. A native of Bogota, Colombia, Nico learned numerous skills and trades by doing and has a tremendous appreciation for generational artisan craft. His body of work is influenced by the genre of folk art and his love for symmetry and bold color.

“Ave Gallo"

Ave Gallo is a memory of having chickens growing up & landscape scenes that play in my head from back home. Chickens seem to be prevalent in almost every corner of the world though. The idea of a quiet chicken was what inspired this piece.

Artist: Scott Griffin

Bio: I’m a South Carolina based artist that mainly does commissioned art work but from time to time I free style and build what’s on my mind and in my heart. I have several large public art pieces on permanent display both outdoors (Tega Cay SC) and in two restaurants. I use a lot of recycled materials in my work. I use a paint sparingly and only when a “color” is important. I like the look and feel of raw, clear coated steel. “Sunset” is a huge set of sunflowers that were created just to make you smile. I’ve learned that people love flowers, so huge metal ones are that much more fun. I hope that during the flowers stay many people will enjoy getting their picture made with the sunflowers along with all the other art on display.
