The Waxhaw Police Department uses auxiliary police officers to aid and assist the full-time personnel in the performance of their lawful duties. Auxiliary officers are non-paid, sworn law enforcement officers, with all powers of arrest, and hold a current certification by the North Carolina Department of Justice, Training and Standards.
