Trash & Recycling Reminders
General Tips
- To ensure your garbage is picked up, place your carts at the curb before 7 a.m. on your scheduled day for pick up.
- Waste Pro is utilizing a single person truck with an arm that grabs the trash containers, lifts and dumps into the truck. Therefore, the containers should face the street as indicated on the top of the container (arrow towards the street) to facilitate dumping.
- When placed with the recycling container, please separate the two in order to make room for the arm to grab each container.
- Place the containers away from the mailboxes and parked vehicles.
- Garbage goes in green or blue carts with "RCS" printed on the side OR a green cart with a blue lid with "Waste Pro" printed on the side.
- Recycling goes in beige carts with "RCS" printed on the side OR a blue cart with a green lid with "Waste Pro" and the recycling emblem printed on the side.
Yard Waste Pickup
- Yard waste pickup is the same day as your waste pickup.
- Waste Pro will now only pick up yard waste placed in paper bags. These bags can be purchased for a nominal fee at Lowe’s, Home Depot, Wal-Mart, and Costco retailers.
- Tree limbs should be cut in three feet lengths, bundled and tied. Diameter not to exceed 4 inches.
Recycling Pickup
- Recycling pickup will be every other week, listed as week A or B. Find your neighborhood or street to determine your scheduled recycling pickup week.
- Lawson will be split into weeks A and B. Lawson east and south of Cuthbertson Road will be recycling week A. Lawson, north and west of Cuthbertson Road, will recycle in week B.
- Although the trucks look similar, Waste Pro makes separate trips for trash and recycling pickups. Please only put recyclables in your recycling bins. Use our Recycling in Waxhaw Guide (PDF).
Missed Pickups
- If your trash and/or recycling was not picked up, please call the Public Services Department at 704-843-7439 as soon as possible to arrange for pickup. Missed pickups that are not reported within 24 hours may not be picked up until the next regularly scheduled pickup.
